User Guide - Section 3
The Transaction Analyser program (BS408)
The Month date selection buttons

The <Mo and Mo> buttons

These buttons advance the From date and the To Date by one calendar month and refresh the transaction listing.

Begin by typing or selecting a date in the From date field to yield a Begin Day
e.g. If you select 10th April 2012 then Begin Day is 10.
Bank Genie works to these rules.

  • If Begin Day is 28 or less, the From date will always be the same as Begin Day

  • Difficulties arise when Begin Day is 29 or more, when clicking over a 12 month period.
Since February in non-leap years has only 28 days, it is impossible for this to work.
In such a case, Bank Genie will use the last day of the month for Begin Day.
In such circumstances Begin Day is variable as you use the <Mo and Mo> buttons- anything between 28 and 31.
Tip: To use the end of the calendar month end date as Begin Day start by entering a
From date with either the 29th, 30th or 31st of any month.
Obviously, in this case, you must select any month EXCEPT February to enter a Begin Day

  • The To Date is largely ignored by Bank Genie when you click either one of the <Mo or Mo> buttons

Example 1
You monitor your sales by calendar month.
Set the Begin Day to the 1st of any month.
Click the <Mo and Mo> buttons to quickly display your sales details and totals.
Use the Print button for permanent records.

The figures refresh automatically each time you click these buttons.
