Starting the program
On the Main Menu, click the Setup tab then click Tags - BS430
The initial screen BS430S01 shows a list of any
Tags which you have already added (if any)

This program allows you to maintain
your list of Tags.
Tags are defined and explained by example on this Glossary Page
Tags are (optionally) used when you add transactions to your database e.g. using the program Manage Transactions program - BS421.
Unlike Categories, there is only one level of Tags allowed in Bank Genie Pro.
i.e. the
system does not use Sub-Tags
Tags are entirely optional, and can be ENABLED or DISABLED in Preferences
(See Preferences - BS498)
Tags
can be added “on the fly” when using the program Manage Transactions program - BS421 the advantage being you don’t have to exit that program and start this program (Tags - BS430).
This program gives you an overview of your Tags chart.
You can add, edit and delete Tags with this program.
Adding a Tag
In the initial screen BS430S01 click the Add a new tag
button

- Enter a name in the Identity Tag field
- Enter a description in the Tag Description field
If you leave this blank and click Add, Bank Genie will fill this field with the identity Tag name.
- Click the Add button
Editing a Tag
In the initial screen BS430S01 click in the list to select an existing Tag
Then click the Edit
button
Alternatively, right-click on a line and select Edit from the shortcut menu

- In screen BS420S02, edit as required
- Click the Change button
Deleting a Tag
In the initial screen BS420S01 click in the list to select an existing Category
Then click the Delete
button
Alternatively, right-click on a line and select Cut (or Edit)
from the shortcut menu
