About the program This program allows you to create a new empty database.
You can create the new database in an existing folder (created using Windows tools)
You can also create a new folder for your new database within the program. See Selecting a Folder You can also overwrite an existing database

Bank Genie keeps track of all your databases using Data Location Records. These are shared by other file handling programs in the system - e.g. Open - BS426, Restore - BS493, Pack - BS492
Once you have created a new database, you can start work by using the program Open another database- BS426. Once opened, the
database can be used as normal using all the programs in Bank Genie.
Selecting a NEW folder for your new EMPTY database
If you wish to create a NEW EMPTY DATABASE in a new folder then click the Select a New Folder

Create a new Data Location Record by following the steps 1 to 4 in this screenshot Screenshot In step 1, you may select an existing folder, or create a new folder for your backup.

When you set up your Data Location Record, control returns to screen BS496S01 Click the Step 2 - Continue button to proceed to the next screen
Selecting a KNOWN folder for your new EMPTY database
If you wish to overwrite an existing database with a NEW EMPTY DATABASE, then click the Select a Known Folder
button In the initial screen BS496S01 Screenshot NOTE: This button does not appear until you have done at least one backup or created a new database previously.
The screen changes to display a popup with a list of Short names of Data Locations which you have created or done backups to in the past
Bank Genie places the data folders in alphabetic order.
Select a record from the pop-up. Click the Step 2 - Continue
button to proceed to the next screen
Creating the NEW empty database
After you click the Step 2-Continue button, screen BS496S02 appears Screenshot
Review your selection to ensure you are not going to overwrite a LIVE database
Note the checkbox Protect this database
in this screen Use this to set Data Protection for the NEW database you are about to create. Database Protection is discussed in the program Set Database Protection - BS404
When OK, click the Go button to finish the task
